Verniflam® Aithon F4X is a water-based opaque film-forming top coat for indoor or sheltered outdoor wood surfaces (minimum density of 390kg/m³, minimum thickness of 10mm).

It is mainly used with Verniflam® Aithon AL20X intumescent paint for fireproofing wood in sheltered outdoor areas.

Non-declassifying finish if used alone.

Euroclass B-s1,d0 (SBI test) with Verniflam® Aithon AL20X.

Classification report: 0944/DC/REA/16_3 (EN 13823, EN ISO 11925-2)

Theoretical application weight: approx. 60 g/m2 (interior), approx. 120 g/m2 (sheltered exterior)

The substrate must be dry, free of dust, oil, wax, grease, dirt, resin, etc.

Existing coatings or coatings with poor adhesion must be completely removed, e.g. using solvent-based paint strippers or by sanding.

Surfaces that have been treated with non-acid-resistant coatings, such as emulsion paints containing lithopones, lime or chalk, must be completely removed by sanding.

In the event of limited penetration into the surface, roughen the adhesion using sandpaper. The moisture content of the wood must not exceed 12%.
