VERNIFLAM® Aithon AL20X is an opaque water-based film-forming intumescent paint for indoor or outdoor wood surfaces under cover (with Verniflam® Aithon F4X top coat).

VERNIFLAM® Aithon AL20X is used as an industrial primer to improve the reaction to fire of wood surfaces. Combined with VERNIFLAM® Aithon F4X Top Coat, it can also be used in sheltered outdoor areas in a defined context.

Euroclass B-s1,d0 (SBI test).

Classification report: 0944/DC/REA/16_3 (EN 13823, EN ISO 11925-2)

Theoretical application weight: approx. 250 g/m2 (interior), approx. 350 g/m2 (outdoors under cover, with Verniflam® Aithon F4X top coat)

The substrate must be dry, free of dust, oil, wax, grease, dirt, resin, etc.

Existing coatings or coatings with poor adhesion must be completely removed, e.g. using solvent-based paint strippers or by sanding.

Surfaces that have been treated with non-acid-resistant coatings, such as emulsion paints containing lithopones, lime or chalk, must be completely removed by sanding.

In case of limited penetration into the surface, roughen the adhesion using sandpaper. The moisture content of the wood must not exceed 12%.
